As a freelance journalist and award-winning feature writer I've covered everything from breaking news after Hurricane Ike to local school redistricting. I've written print and online articles along with web logs (blogs) for three major newspapers on a wide variety of topics.
My specialty is human-interest stories. I enjoy interviewing and writing about people and their passions. I pride myself on my professionalism and ability to write clean, concise, effective copy on deadline.
Topics I've written about include health and fitness, business, travel, community service, parenting, education and sports.

Literature editor for campus literary arts magazine, Bayousphere. University of Houston-Clear Lake; August 2005 - December 2005. Judged literature, art and photography submissions, copyediting and writing magazine articles for submission.
Intern for more than 200 hours as a reporter/photographer, Florida Today newspaper May 2004 - August 2004. Wrote local news stories and front-page features for sports and weekly sections.

May 2007 - Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, with honors, from University of Houston-Clear Lake.
August 2002 - Associates degree, with honors, from Brevard Community College.
